However I was hopeful that the Internet could provide the answer. I spent lot of time and money on internet books and seminars, but no one taught: How an Existing small business makes money online...other than eBay.

The other internet "gurus" of the world are still teaching people to sell information products (i.e. How to books) or they tell people to sell niche products.
